Philanthropy at Alpha Phi

Red Dress Gala

Alpha Phis in Songfest In 2006, the Beta Omega chapter hosted its First Annual Red Dress Gala to raise money for the Alpha Phi Foundation. We have continued the tradition since then, inviting parents, friends, alumnae, and leaders in the Greek community to gather in the newly renovated Kent State University Ballroom to enjoy appetizers, drinks, and desserts. This past February, ladies of the Beta Omega chapter and gentlemen from Kent State fraternities participated in a fashion show modeling clothing donated from Cache. A hypnotist also joined us and led a group of volunteers in humorous acts. The silent auction featured items such as Cleveland Indians tickets, handbags, and much more. Direct donations to the foundation and proceeds from the silent auction helped the Beta Omega chapter raise over $6,500 to donated to the Alpha Phi Foundation, which supports research for heart disease. We, the Beta Omega chapter, would like to extend much gratitude to everyone who supported this event and made it such a tremendous success.

Alpha Phi Mud-Tug

In the fall, on September 26, we are planning to start another philanthropy known as mud-tug. This will be a chance to get the Kent State greek community involved in our work. We are excited to try this fun way of raising money for the Alpha Phi Foundation in support of heart disease and are looking forward to its success.
